Pete Worden

Dr. S. Pete Worden is a Senior Science Advisor for Project Pearl, LLC. His roles include coordinating potential new missions and concepts, advising on governmental and international coordination, and advising the President of Schmidt Sciences.

Dr. Worden (Brig Gen, USAF, Ret, PhD) held several US Air Force positions and a research professorship at the University of Arizona, Dr. Worden was then Director of NASA’s Ames Research Center. He was an Advisor to the Luxembourg Space Agency and was knighted by the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg for his space services. He also leads the Breakthrough Initiatives, a privately funded suite of space science programs to find life beyond earth and explore interstellar space. He is now Laureate Professor of Astronomy at the University of Arizona.
