Shannon Forrey

Shannon is the Science Communications Manager at Schmidt Sciences, where she helps share the science and stories of the organization’s grantees. With more than 15 years of experience in science communication, she specializes in translating complex scientific concepts into compelling narratives for diverse audiences.

Previously, Shannon helped lead communications and outreach efforts at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory and OceanX, with a focus on digital strategy, public engagement, and global social media initiatives.

She holds a Bachelor of Science in Advertising and is currently completing a Master of Science in Space Studies. Her graduate work has explored space law and policy, human biology in extreme environments, and the development of augmented reality interfaces for spacesuit helmets in collaboration with the NASA SUITS program.
