Chan Young Park is currently a visiting researcher at Microsoft Research in the AI Interaction and Learning team and will join the UT Austin School of Information as an assistant professor in Fall 2026. Her research sits at the intersection of NLP, AI ethics, and computational social science, with a focus on building socially intelligent AI systems that are adaptable, personalized, and equitable. She earned her Ph.D. from the Language Technologies Institute at Carnegie Mellon University, advised by Yulia Tsvetkov, and previously was a postdoc with Yejin Choi at the University of Washington. Her work has been recognized with several honors, including the ACL Best Paper Award, the Wikimedia Research Award of the Year, and selection as a UChicago Rising Star in Data Science.
