Sachin Kumar is an Assistant Professor at The Ohio State University. He earned his Ph.D. from Carnegie Mellon University, after which he was a postdoctoral scholar at AI2 and the University of Washington, Seattle. His research focuses on developing more inclusive, adaptable, and practical NLP technologies. He is particularly interested in multilingual models that equitably support both written and spoken languages, continual adaptation of NLP models to new languages, domains, and capabilities, personalization to diverse user preferences, and evaluating models on real-world use cases. He is a Google PhD Fellowship (2022) recipient and has received outstanding and best paper awards at ACL 2023 and 2024.
