Tyler Hallmark

Alumni Associate

Tyler Hallmark serves as the Alumni Associate for Schmidt Sciences, where he oversees the Foundation’s alumni engagement strategy. In this role, Tyler is the primary liaison between alumni and Schmidt Sciences’ various centers, fostering long-term relationships that enhance community impact and advance institutional goals.
Prior to joining Schmidt Sciences, Tyler served as a Senior Program Associate at the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation, where he helped oversee the Foundation’s grantmaking to effectively expand access and opportunity in STEM higher education. In this role at Sloan, Tyler managed two of the Foundation’s signature efforts: the Exemplary Pathways to STEM Graduate Education initiative and the Sloan Indigenous Graduate Partnership.
Tyler is a first-generation college graduate, a former Pell grant recipient, a Gates Millennium Scholar, and a proud citizen of the Cherokee Nation. He earned his Ph.D. in Educational Studies from The Ohio State University, his M.S. in Education from the University of Pennsylvania, and his B.A. in Communication from the University of Colorado Boulder.
