Dr. Uri Ben-David is an Associate Professor of Cancer Genetics at the Faculty of Medicine of Tel Aviv University. His group applies genomic and functional approaches to studying chromosomal catastrophes in cancer, focusing on a fundamental trait of cancer, called aneuploidy – a change in the number of chromosomes in cancer cells. His work on the genomic evolution of cancer models has impacted the application of lab models in cancer research. His work of synthetic lethalities of aneuploid cancer cells has contributed to ongoing clinical trials with drugs that target novel molecular targets. Ultimately, his research aspires to expand the understanding of the genetic basis of cancer, and to open new avenues for personalized cancer treatments. Visit the Ben-David Lab website for more information on their work.
