Dr. Fatema Tuz Zohora is working as a postdoctoral researcher at Schwartz lab, Princess Margaret Cancer Center, UHN, Toronto. She believes the groundbreaking performance of deep learning in knowledge graphs, computer vision, and natural language processing makes it a promising approach to allow exciting discoveries in computational biology. Therefore, she is working on developing machine learning and deep learning models to study cell-cell communication in anti-cancer drug resistance. She had her Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Waterloo, Canada, where she applied deep learning in Proteomics data to predict disease biomarkers to aid in drug discovery. Before starting Ph.D. she served as an assistant professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET), Bangladesh. She had her B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Computer Science from BUET. She has publications in highly regarded peer-reviewed journals, including Nature Research.
