Soumita received her doctoral degree from the Saw Swee Hock School of Public Health, National University of Singapore, where she developed bioinformatics tools for visualizing multi-omics data and mining high-throughput datasets. Following her doctoral degree, she was a Research Fellow in the Department of Medicine, Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, Singapore, where she was involved in developing tools for predicting cancer related outcomes, integrating genotype and phenotype information. Following this, at the Cancer Science Institute of Singapore, she was involved developing machine learning-based drug recommendation algorithms for refractory cancer patients at the National University Hospital, Singapore. As a postdoctoral fellow in Dr. Bhat’s lab she is now applying machine learning based methods on multi-omics and clinical data for various clinical problems in the context of liver transplant.
