Prof. Zhangyang “Atlas” Wang is a tenured Associate Professor and Temple Foundation Endowed Faculty Fellow in the Chandra Family Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at The University of Texas at Austin, with affiliations in UT Computer Science and the Oden Institute. His research spans machine learning and optimization, with a current focus on the theoretical and algorithmic foundations of generative AI and neurosymbolic AI, aiming to unify neural computation with structured, symbolic reasoning for efficient and robust learning. His work has been extensively +++supported by major federal agencies and industry partners, and he co-founded the Conference on Parsimony and Learning (CPAL), serving as its inaugural Program Chair. Prof. Wang is the recipient of numerous honors including the NSF CAREER Award, ARO Young Investigator Award, IEEE AI’s 10 to Watch, and multiple best paper awards.
