Dr. Shira Faigenbaum-Golovin is a Phillip Griffiths Assistant Research Professor at Duke University’s math department as well as at the Rhodes Interdisciplinary Initiative, working with Prof. Ingrid Daubechies. In 2021 Shira obtained her Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics from Tel Aviv University. Shira’s research interests are in the areas of data science, numerical analysis, and robust and statistically significant analysis of high-dimensional data. Shira strives to illuminate new problems stemming from high-dimensional data by studying the story that the data geometry tells. In addition, she develops mathematical tools, aiming to answer long-debated research questions that can shed light on the broader picture in Digital Humanities and Data Science.
