Shira M. Lupkin is a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Neurobiology at the University of Chicago. She earned a PhD in Behavioral and Neural Sciences from Rutgers University in 2024. Her graduate work focused on the development of a free-gaze decision task for macaque monkeys and exploring the functional specialization within the primate orbitofrontal cortex. Prior to graduate school she spent several years researching the role of trait-level sleep patterns in cognitive and emotional processing. Lupkin’s work has been published in several academic journals, including Nature Neuroscience, eLife, and the Journal of Neuroscience.
