Dr. Mykel Kochenderfer is an Associate Professor of Aeronautics and Astronautics at Stanford University, specializing in robust decision-making systems in uncertain, dynamic environments. His research, conducted at the Stanford Intelligent Systems Laboratory (SISL), focuses on computational methods for deriving optimal decision strategies, with applications in air traffic control, unmanned aircraft, and other aerospace areas. His extensive background in safety-critical systems makes him particularly suited to lead this project on enhancing LLM safety.

Dr. Kochenderfer’s project is developing an automated evaluation framework for Large Language Models (LLMs) using Adaptive Stress Testing (AST).
