Dr. Ziang Xiao is an assistant professor in the Department of Computer Science at Johns Hopkins University, with research driven by understanding human behavior at scale. His work aims to enhance human-AI interaction and expand our understanding of human cognition, fostering a more connected research community and democratizing cutting-edge technologies. He earned his PhD in computer science from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and was a postdoctoral researcher in the Fairness, Accountability, Transparency, and Ethics group at Microsoft Research Montréal.

Xiao’s project aims to improve AI model benchmarks by psychometrically analyzing existing ones and developing an AI-powered toolkit with modules for defining objectives, creating blueprints, and assembling customized benchmarks.
