Avital is a postdoctoral researcher at ETH Zurich, where she works in the Secure and Private AI lab led by Prof. Florian Tramer. Prior to this, Avital completed her PhD at The Hebrew University, advised by Prof. Shmuel Peleg and Prof. Gil Segev. Her research interests lie in the security of machine learning and the intersection between machine learning and cryptography.

During her PhD, Avital visited the Vector AI Institute, where she worked with Prof. Nicolas Papernot on adversarial machine learning, and Cornell Tech, where she worked with Prof. Tom Ristenpart on the interplay between machine learning and cryptography.
