I am a researcher in plant biology interested in the way plants face and adapt to environmental stresses. In the long run, I would like to develop ways to grow plants more tolerant to climate change, particularly in regions of the world most affected by climate crisis. To this end, I am currently working on an innovative AI-based diagnostic platform that will accurately assess drought stress in crops from images of their leaves. The outcome of this project will be an open-access platform that enables farmers and researchers to diagnose drought stress in new leaf images with ease and affordability, benefiting the agricultural community at large.
