Alona Levy-Jurgenson received her PhD in Computer Science from the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology where her main focus was on deep learning solutions for high-resolution medical image analysis, supervised by Prof. Zohar Yakhini. Shortly after completing her PhD, Alona developed a new class of generative models (Generative Topological Networks – GTNs), which will form the basis for her new role as Senior Postdoctoral Research Associate at Oxford. In her postdoctoral research, funded by Google DeepMind, Alona will focus on further developing GTNs as well as on developing generative models for medical data analysis alongside other theory-driven deep learning applications. She will also pursue initiatives towards improving DE&I in machine learning, with an emphasis on improving women’s representation in the field.
