Dr Andreas Joergensen earned his PhD at the Max Planck Institute for Astrophysics in 2019. During his PhD and one year as a postdoctoral research fellow at the University of Birmingham, his work focused on modelling the magneto-hydrodynamic processes in stellar interiors. In 2021, he entered the field of computational biology and joined Imperial College London. Since then, he has studied different complex biological systems, particularly glioblastoma, an aggressive form of brain cancer, and genetic regulatory networks. Throughout his scientific career, Andreas has developed mathematical models, Bayesian inference tools and machine-learning methods, and he has applied these to analyse a broad range real-world data.
