Austin is a mechanical engineer turned chemist, and is currently a fellow in the Chemistry Department at Imperial College London. Prior to joining Imperial, Austin completed her PhD at the University of Oregon, where she developed open-source postprocessing software to enhance data analysis of solid-state and molecular calculations. Currently, she extends her emphasis on software for chemistry and materials discovery by focusing on the data-driven methods and models that underpin self-driving, autonomous labs.
