Benjamin Decardi-Nelson is a Schmidt AI in Science Postdoctoral Fellow in the Systems Engineering department at Cornell University. Benjamin’s research centers around developing novel advanced computational tools to improve the analysis, design and operation of complex process systems, with sustainability as the overarching goal. He earned his PhD from the University of Alberta in Canada. At Cornell, he uses biology-informed AI to explore the dynamic complexity of plant-microenvironment interactions in artificial environments, with the goal of promoting sustainable food production.
