Jake Taylor is a postdoctoral research fellow at the University of Oxford where he is studying the atmospheres of exoplanets – planets that orbit different stars in our galaxy. The goal is to understand the physical and chemical processes at play in their atmospheres. Understanding their atmospheres is the key to answering some of the biggest questions in astronomy, such as: can we detect biosignatures (thus life) in the atmosphere of other planets? How did our solar system form? Jake has been involved with the development of the science objectives for various space telescopes such as the James Webb Space Telescope, Ariel and Twinkle. Jake is an advocate for LGBT+ rights and LGBT+ inclusion in STEM, he is currently a trustee for the charity Pride in STEM.
