I am interested in ML applications for ecological data. I completed my PhD at the University of Toronto and used integrated models to investigate the evolution and ecological consequences of temperature-dependent sex determination in long-lived reptiles. Specifically, I investigated how anthropogenic change affects the life-history strategies of organisms. I construct custom modelling approaches to answer ecological questions that would otherwise be difficult to answer. In my postdoctoral research, I am developing AI techniques to automatically identify fish species from hydroacoustic data. I plan to then integrate these techniques into more traditional ecological models to assess fish stocks and community composition.
