Dr. Matt Church is a microbial ecologist and biogeochemist whose research focuses on addressing questions that seek to improve understanding on how variability in ocean habitat structure influences plankton metabolism and diversity. He is particularly interested in plankton cycling of nitrogen in the subtropical ocean gyres.
